(Last updated: 11 Jul 2024)

It has come to our attention that unauthorised parties have made use of our Bank’s name and logo on fraudulent websites 001 ("台灣興業證券"), social media accounts on LINE and Facebook platforms, as well as “興業Online” / “ILSOL” mobile app.

If you think you or someone you know has been scammed, please report to National Police Agency, Ministry of the Interior (Taiwan) by calling 165 anti-fraud hotline or report to Xin Yi Precinct of the Taipei City Police Department. If you are outside Taiwan, please report via https://165.npa.gov.tw.

Australia – Important notice on imposter financial product scams

(Last updated: Sep 2023)

Societe Generale is aware of imposters posing as Societe Generale, or other financial institutions, offering financial products in Australia including shares, bonds and deposit investments, in some cases guaranteed or issued by Societe Generale. These are not Societe Generale products and Societe Generale is not offering these products. Please remain alert and do not respond or take any action in relation to this scam as you are likely to lose your money.

Some recent scams reported to us involve scammers pretending to be from Societe Generale Melbourne office, a city from which Societe Generale does not operate.

If you think you or someone you know has been scammed, lodge a report of misconduct with ASIC and report the matter to police. You should also make a report to ReportCyber.

Stay alert on suspicious emails and advertisements

It has come to our attention that unauthorised parties have made use of our Company name and logo with an email address @societgenerale.com.au (i.e. wrong spelling of “societ”) to offer investment products. Please notice that Societe Generale does not use such email domain, and we also do not place advertisements on social media to market investment products in Australia.

Japan - Important notice

It has come to our attention that unauthorised parties have made use of our Company name, logo and employee name using email address domains (ex: @societe-generale.tokyo), which are not owned by, nor authorised in any way by Societe Generale Group. Emails coming from such domains do not come from Societe Generale (SG). Please exercise extreme caution if you receive an email or contact from a person purporting to be a SG employee and offering you investment opportunities and/or financial products from this domain. SG has been the subject of identity theft and is taking necessary steps to report this matter to the relevant authorities.
